This World Changing Role This is a full-time, on-site role for a Guide (our version of a teacher) at Acton Academy 30A in Inlet Beach, FL. As a Guide, your role is not to lecture or deliver content, but to coach, challenge, & cheerlead young learners on their self-paced, meaningful learning journeys.
You will:
Create and hold a vibrant, respectful learning environment Facilitate Socratic discussions (no lectures!) Design and launch real-world projects and Quests Offer 1:1 check-ins to help learners set goals and reflect Guide learners in conflict resolution and peer accountability Collaborate with a team to refine systems and rhythms Maintain open communication with families and teammates We’re looking for someone who is: Passionate about children and learner-driven education Confident in holding boundaries with calm, compassionate authority A clear communicator, reflective thinker, and continuous learner Naturally curious, self-motivated, and creative We’re part of the global Acton Academy Network, and we’re seeking Guides (our version of teachers) to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year in the following studios: Lower Elementary (ages 6-9) Upper Elementary (ages 9-11) Middle School (ages 11-14) Preferred (but not required): Experience with Socratic or Montessori-inspired education Familiarity with project-based learning or alternative models Bachelor’s degree in education, child development, or a related field You do not need traditional classroom teaching experience—we value mindset, presence, and alignment far more than credentials.
