This person must know behavior and be eager to support children in crisis as well as educate them. This person needs special education general curriculum certification and certification in either elementary education or in all of the subject areas P-5 (Reading, ELA, Social Studies, Math and Science.) 1) Self-contained behavior support 2) Self-contained autism support. Both positions require special education general curriculum certification and certification in either middle school education or in all of the subject areas P-8 or 6-8 (Reading, ELA, Social Studies, Math and Science.) The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of theSpecial Education Program Administrator provides quality services to specialeducation students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitmentto team participation in planning and implementation of student programsincluding special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation withgeneral education staff.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited universitypreferred
Valid state teaching certificate as required by state,contract/district regulations
Minimum of one year experience in teaching environmentpreferred
