SUMMARY:
Provide high quality instruction and implement the curriculum for assigned students; establish, foster, facilitate and maintain a safe and secure classroom environment that is conducive to learning
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1.Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance 2.Teach grade relevant, subject matter specific and mandated curriculum 3.Prepare lesson plans, instructional aids, and supplemental teaching materials 4.Manage the learning environment and ensure the maintenance of an effective physical setting for instruction 5.Participate in student development and achievement related conferences with parents, students, counselors, teachers, the principal, and/or administrators 6.Assess, monitor, and support students as part of the MTSS process 7.Perform general Title I instruction coordination duties such as ordering materials, attending meetings, and engaging in various forms of correspondence 8.Attend professional learning sessions and/or required conferences 9.Adhere to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission’s Code of Ethics for Educators, all Board policies and regulations, all Title I guidelines and procedures and all local school procedures 10.Ability to be present at the physical worksite 11.Must be able to properly and consistently supervise students, particularly during emergency situations 12.Perform other duties as assigned and allowable by intended program
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university Hold or be eligible for school system’s required certification in appropriate educational field Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work well with students, parents, staff and the community
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities. Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling and repetitive fine motor activities. Prolonged periods of standing, walking and sitting. Vision, hearing and verbal communications are essential functions of this position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Professional Standards Commission approved subject specific endorsements, as required 2024 Master’s Degree from accredited college or university Experience as a classroom teacher Title I Teacher
