Job Summary
The Early Childhood Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance (TA) and training to child care providers and early education programs in designated service delivery area. The primary goal of technical assistance is program quality improvement and Quality Rated leveling.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities to include but are not limited to
In coordination with program leadership, engagemunity partners in region by participating in meetings and facilitating partner events.
Provide technical assistancesupport to Early Childhood Education professionals by phone, email, and regular onsite visits to assist program in improving program quality andor achieving Quality Rated leveling. This includes, but is not limited to Complete formal assessments, develop and implement a plan of improvement, and maintain necessary documentation. Provide professional development training in accordance with state guidelines and national best practices.
Complete all required reports, site visit documentation forms, etc. inpliance with state and program guidelines and national best practices. Provide career counseling to earlylearning professionals interested in returning to school.
Facilitate PLC groups in conjunction with regionwide effort.
Perform all other related dutiestasks as assigned and necessary to meet program needs and provide highquality services.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Family and Consumer Sciences or related field and a minimum of three years of experience working directly with groups of children B. Must meet minimum requirements as a GA State Approved Trainer. Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in ECE or related field.
Familiarity with the state of GA licensing regulations governing childcare facilities.
Experience in a childcare setting.
Experience providing technical assistanceserving as a mentor.
Experience providing adult education.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in Microsoft Office and otherputer softwaredatabases.
Strong knowledge of early childhood field.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbalmunication skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to e a respectful partnership with providers.
Ability to work in a team environment with a diverse group of people and in a variety of settings.
Must be a GA State Approved Trainer.
