Delaware Valley Job Corps is an education and training centerlocated in beautiful Callicoon, NY. Students who are aged 16-24years old come and reside on our Center while we help drive themtoward future success in the workforce. With a capacity of 208students, we use student-focused programs to help our studentsachieve excellence in their academic, professional and personalgoals. Unlike traditional public school settings, DVJCC is atraining and employability center. Classroom ratios are 18:1allowing more 1:1 opportunity between teachers and students.

Additionally, there are no parent-teacher conferences and nohomework to prepare, collect, etc. as in traditional schoolsettings. Teacher Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing instruction andtraining to students in the Career Education Center. Developsindividual achievement plans and academic goals to ensure studentacademic achievement in the program. Responsible to providestudents with academic training leading to GED/HSD completion andimproved literacy and numeracy skills. Provides students withcomprehensive and individualized case management that ensuresstudent progress, achievement and completion of Job Corps program.

Ensures classroom is well organized and conducive to studentlearning. Holds students accountable for following Center’s dresscode/behavioral standards of conduct. Qualifications Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree from an accreditedschool required. A valid NY state teaching certificate is required.

For candidates that are actively pursuing their NY state teachingcertificates, approval may be granted to have that individual startand earn valuable experience while they pursue their certificate.
