Ad Valorem - 2.
40 parish property (ad valorem) tax mills are dedicated to employee salaries. The annual receipts from this tax are distributed to employees twice a year, one-half in January and one-half in June. The amount of each employee’s supplement is the employee’s salary multiplied by the annual percentage (computed each year based on actual tax revenues).
The Special Education Teacher (Self-Contained and Inclusion) is responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities. The teacher will work in both self-contained classrooms and inclusion settings, tailoring lesson plans, assessments, and activities to meet the unique needs of students. This position involves collaboration with general education teachers, specialists, parents, and administrators to ensure that students have an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
1) Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university
2) Valid LA teaching certificate or the ability to obtain one with appropriate endorsements
3) A demonstrated philosophy that all students can and will learn
4) Excellent attendance record
5) Excellent oral and written communication skills
6) Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of Best Instructional Practices
7) Positive interpersonal skills
8) Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performances and/or residency
