Job Description
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership ad manage a classroom team of paraprofessionals and therapists
Ability to work as a productive member of an instructional team to maximize student outcomes
Develop units of instruction that are aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and Common Core
Develop
MCAS-ALT
portfolios, and/or proctor MCAS testing
Write reports, develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs), maintain data collection employing research-based best practice strategies to demonstrate students progress and adjust student goals
Work with expert consultants to identify and/or develop effective support systems for student and families
Develop positive relationships with families
Develop positive relationships with internal and external community members
Ability to mentor and coach professional and paraprofessional members
Ability to recognize the need for and to provide assistance to student in an appropriately active classroom setting
Responsibility to stay up to date with current educational practices.
Participation in a mentor program that focuses on Positive Behavioral Intervention & Supports (PBIS), Social Communication Emotional Regulation Transactional Supports (SCERTS), collaborative problem solving (CPS) and Deeper Learning approaches.
Work as a productive member of the instructional team to maximize student outcomes
Other student-related assigned responsibilities as needed, including 1:1 assistance and inclusion opportunities
Provide support to students in community and inclusive settings
Reinforce academic concepts to help students achieve their academic goals
Work with general education staff to support students with inclusion opportunities
