Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
Extended School Year (ESY) is a Special Education Program for students with
disabilities whose IEP team has determined that in order to prevent substantial
regression and reduce recoupment times the students require a longer year. Services
are based on individual needs to address IEP goals and objectives.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Schedule and instruct students individually or in small groups in Math, Reading, English Language Arts,
and/or other goal areas as indicated on their IEPs to maintain skills learned during the school year.
2. Direct paraprofessionals, manage the classroom environment and create an atmosphere that is positive for
student learning and involvement.
3. Deliver instruction effectively and fulfill all professional responsibilities.
4. Promote and communicate high standards and expectations for student achievement.
5. Promote equity and appreciation of diversity and strives to ensure equitable opportunities for student
learning.
6. Communicate student progress based on data collected to parents/guardians and other school personnel.
7. Complete any other duty or assignments as directed by the Director of Special Education/ESY Coordi
