The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting health and wellness initiatives, providing education, and supporting community health programs. This position requires a strong understanding of health principles and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations. A background in health sciences or a related field is preferred. The goal of the health/wellness program is to incorporate both physical and social-emotional aspects of health. The curriculum focuses on the analysis of various influences on wellness and the decision making process in choosing, practicing and advocating for healthy behaviors. Topics may include nutrition, healthy relationships, sexual education, drug and alcohol prevention, mindfulness, and/or self-management. Designing engaging standards-aligned curricula that foster the development of personal wellness skills in our students is essential. The Educator’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: Teach, reinforce, remediate, and ensure mastery of academic content with individual students, small groups of students, and whole class(es) of students; Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards and MA frameworks; Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards; Use assessment data to refine curriculum and modify instructional practices; Communicate effectively, consistently, and professionally with students, families, and colleagues; Provide support, accommodations, and attention to all students; Participate in curriculum and professional development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions; Ensure students are engaged and invested in the classroom, managing behavior and providing incentives; Comply with school, district, and statewide policies and regulations; Be accountable for students’ mastery of academic standards; and Complete other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and MA Licensure in Health and Wellness. Experience teaching SEL competencies (CASEL) and/or mindfulness is a plus. Experience in inclusion classroom models a plus. Deep understanding of RETELL obligations and ability to meet SEI requirements for MA educators; and Current Authorization to work in the United States.
