The Hospitality Teacher will be responsible for the front of the house and District events, all while working collaboratively with an energetic, growing, student body. Bachelor’s Degree required. Candidates should be licensed or licensable by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Five (5) years of hospitality management experience required. ServSafe required. General OSHA 30-Hour certification preferred, but required within three years of employment. OSHA Train-the-Trainer certification preferred, but required within five years of employment. Satisfactory CORI, SAFIS, and SORI. Bilingual prefered. This position is subject to the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement in effect between the District and HTF. CAREER TECHNICAL & AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION TEACHER REPORTS TO

Coordinator of Career Technical & Agricultural Education

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Map each grade curriculum to the State Frameworks. Provide instruction in the content in accordance with the Massachusetts Vocational-Technical Frameworks in the specified career area. Enforce all OSHA safety regulations within the career education setting. Instruct students in the field when participating in outside projects. Document student performance, student behavior, and student achievement within the career education setting. Provides review and reinforcement of new concepts; supports students in the completion of their assigned tasks. Demonstrate knowledge of students’ IEPs, as well as the accommodations and modifications necessary for student success; modify assignments, tests, and quizzes in collaboration with special educators, if required. Develop resources for students to be successful, such as models, graphic organizers, and copies of class notes, video clips, demonstrations, etc. Participate as a member of the career area department; collaborate with teachers within the department. Collaborate with teachers in academic disciplines to facilitate learning activities that are cross-curricular and project-based. Collaborate with the Cooperative Education Coordinator to place students in their career area. Maintain documentation, including student performance, behavior, progress data, notation of student absences/tardies, and conversations with parents and administrators. Provide content support outside of the general education classroom, as necessary. Integrate technology into the curriculum. Respond to any correspondence, both oral and written, that comes from a parent or guardian. Participate in conferences and meetings when appropriate; contribute observations and ideas. Attend Advisory Board meetings twice per year; attend Open House. Keep current with changes in your career area; collaborate with Advisory Board members. Accept additional responsibilities as may be required under the direction of the Coordinator of Career Technical & Agricultural Education.
