Job Description

SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER, ABA

Classroom
The Marblehead School District is seeking highly qualified applicants for full-time special education teachers of students with Mild/Moderate/Severe Disabilities at Marblehead High School. Teachers in this classroom will be expected to support students across multiple grade levels with the support of other special education teachers, tutors, behavior specialists, school adjustment counselors and other support staff. The ideal candidate is flexible, responsible and organized and has experience working with students with a wide range of learning needs. In addition, has a versatile skill set and a willingness to proactively look for ways to support both teachers and students. We are looking for a team player who is compassionate, supporting, and caring toward students. This is a Unit A Teacher position; compensation in accordance with a collectively bargained agreement.

Position Responsibilities:

Develop and implement lessons that reinforce positive student behavior and exhibit appropriate elements of differentiation and universal design for learning.
Develop and implement class-wide positive behavioral supports
Provide instruction in inclusion or sub-separate settings that incorporate evidence-based instruction with access to all general education curriculum
Work closely and collaboratively with related service providers, program consultants, and general education teachers in order to provide students with a comprehensive educational program, including appropriate maintenance of student records
Ensure the rights of students with disabilities to be full participants in the general curriculum
Assess curriculum and instruction for cultural biases
Write and implement IEPs, including completion of appropriate evaluations
Supervise and support educational support professionals as they implement instructional methodologies
Implement standardized evaluation tools
Collect and maintain data on student academic and social growth
