Theology Teacher

Bishop Fenwick High School is looking for a full-time, talented, passionate, innovative, and inspiring Theology teacher to start working in August, 2025.
Bishop Fenwick is a Catholic, co-educational, college prep school providing education for life. The Fenwick experience empowers students to seek and achieve excellence intellectually, creatively, physically, morally, and spiritually, recognizing their responsibility to serve and to lead. Located in Peabody, MA, and operating independently in the Archdiocese of Boston, Bishop Fenwick is a close-knit, student-centered, and character driven community that focuses on the whole person and forms life-long relationships.
Qualified Applicants will meet the following criteria:
- Degree in Theology or similar field required; Master’s degree (preferred)
- Practicing Catholic with a personal commitment to the Catholic mission and knowledge of the Catholic faith
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience (preferred)
- Teach a range of Theology classes (doctrine, morality, Sacraments, Scripture, etc.)
- Work collaboratively within the Theology Department and with other departments
- Employ various instructional strategies that are academically rigorous and highly engaging
- Develop an inclusive learning environment that promotes intellectual and spiritual growth
- Contribute to school life in meaningful ways outside the classroom (coaching, extra-curriculars, supervisions)
Teaching Responsibilities include: - 5 sections of Theology, with usually 3 preps at most
- Design lesson planning that is thoughtful and intentional; create a classroom experience that is engaging, challenging, encourages student voice, and promotes active learning
- Communicate effectively, positively, and consistently with students and families to provide feedback on student progress throughout the year
- Create, develop, amend, and assess curricula, content, assessments, and teaching methods as necessary to foster a student-centered learning environment
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills, the ability to work collegially and collaboratively, and a willingness to go the proverbial extra mile for students
- Have a strong knowledge of differentiated instructional strategies, with a focus on emphasizing student strengths and developing essential skills
Additional Responsibilities include: - Attending and contributing to meetings during and after the school day, including, but not limited to, department, committee, and grade-level meetings
- Participating in the life of Fenwick by attending community events, being present for major school functions, and supporting the overall mission and culture of the School
