Category Schools – Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract An educational opportunity is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to support elementary school students. This position is offered on a contract basis for the upcoming school year and will be located in Amherst, MA.
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction for visually impaired students to support their academic progress. Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ unique needs. Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to ensure accessible learning environments. Utilize assistive technology and resources to enhance student learning. Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting instruction as needed.
Qualifications:
Certification or licensure in teaching students with visual impairments. Experience working with elementary-aged students. Strong knowledge of educational strategies and tools for visual impairment. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Location:
Amherst, Massachusetts This contract role provides the opportunity to make a substantial difference in the educational experience and development of students with visual impairments.
