Job Description
Austin Preparatory School is seeking a dedicated Special Educator & Reading Specialist to join our Student Integrated Learning Program. This role focuses on providing targeted, evidence-based reading instruction (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson) to students with Dyslexia and other Language-Based Learning Disabilities through small groups and 1:1 sessions. The specialist will collaborate with faculty and families to support student progress and promote a nurturing, inclusive learning environment aligned with Augustinian values.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Certification or significant training in multisensory, evidence-based reading interventions (Orton-Gillingham or Wilson preferred)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in special education or inclusive settings supporting language-based learning disabilities
- Strong communication skills and a student-centered approach
