Wound Care Specialist EA Team Inc. 330 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge, MA 02138 Job Summary The Wound Care Nurse plays a critical role in the healthcare team, specializing in the assessment, treatment, and management of patients with acute and chronic wounds. This position requires a compassionate and skilled nursing professional dedicated to providing high-quality care to enhance patient healing and recovery. The Wound Care Nurse will collaborate with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and patients to develop individualized care plans that promote optimal wound healing. Duties Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ wounds, including size, depth, and signs of infection. Develop and implement comprehensive wound care treatment plans based on best practices and patient needs. Educate patients and their families on wound care techniques, prevention strategies, and overall health management. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective healing. Document all assessments, treatments, and patient interactions accurately in electronic health records. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care for patients with complex wound issues. Stay current with advancements in wound care technology and techniques through ongoing education and training. Skills Strong clinical assessment skills with a focus on wound evaluation and management. Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with healthcare teams. Ability to work independently while also being a team player in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems for documentation purposes. Knowledge of infection control practices related to wound care. Compassionate approach to patient care with strong interpersonal skills. This position is ideal for dedicated nursing professionals looking to make a significant impact on patient outcomes through specialized wound care expertise. Certification in wound ostomy and continence nursing required.
