DEVELOPMENTAL SPECIALIST
(Full-Time Position) Sign on bonus $2,000 for Full Time (30-40 hours) and $1,000 for Part Time (20-29 hours) positions. The bonus will be paid out in two increments! Our Early Intervention Developmental Specialist works with young children, from birth to age three, who may have developmental delays or disabilities. Their primary responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing individualized intervention plans, providing direct services, and collaborating with families and other professionals to support the child’s development.
Responsibilities:
Conducting developmental screenings and assessments to identify areas of delay or concern. Developing Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), tailored to each child’s unique needs. Providing individual or group developmental therapy services in home and other community based environments. Demonstrate confidence in visiting private homes and working effectively with diverse families in a kind and compassionate manner. Working collaboratively with families to set goals, develop strategies, and provide coaching, education and support within the family routines. Collaborating with other professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and pediatricians, to ensure a holistic approach to the child’s development. Maintaining accurate records and documentation of services provided and progress made following DPH regulations. Participating in staff training, team meetings and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on the latest best practices.
Education:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, special education, or a related area. Candidates with a master’s degree are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience working with families and children who have developmental delays or disabilities. Strong communication and collaboration skills, ability to work effectively with diverse families, and knowledge of early childhood development and intervention strategies. CEIS – Certified Early Intervention Specialist Completion of DPH Certification may be required in the future.
