INSTRUCTORS FOR SMART START EXTENDED DAY PROGRAMS
Contingent upon continued funding and program enrollment, the Smart Start Extended Day program is seeking classroom instructors for the 2025-2026 school year, during vacation and summer days. The programs are located at the Angelo, Arnone, Baker, Brookfield, Davis, Downey, George, Gilmore, Hancock, Kennedy, and Raymond Schools. This is a twelve-month program that may require working during school and summer vacations.
QUALIFICATIONS
1.MA DESE Certification required2.Successful classroom experience3.Excellent communication skills4.CPR/First Aid Certification preferred5.Safety Care Training preferred6.Previous experience working in a Smart Start Extended Day program preferred
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Plan and implement daily academic enrichment, recreational and project-based activities2.Assist with successful completion of homework assignments3.Interact with students in a supportive manner to develop positive values and enhance self-esteem4.Work as part of a team with other staff members and site coordinators to create a safe and enriching learning environment for all students5.Adhere to required EEC regulations for funded programs including a Background Record Check (every three years), an annual completion of EEC Essentials Training Modules, and submission of requested staff records to a confidential file in Human Resources6.Other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Schools and the Coordinator of Extended Day Programs
