Support Services – Hyde Park, Massachusetts
About Boston Prep Boston Prep is a college-preparatory charter public district, made up of a single-site middle and high school. In 2025-2026, our community will include 700 students in grades 6-12, nearly 500 alumni, over 150 faculty members, and hundreds of families. The majority of our students and families reside in Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan, and Hyde Park. As a
BCBA/ABA
Behavior Support Specialist. . .
You believe in creating an educational experience where students are able to see themselves reflected in the content of your class.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Student Support & Service Delivery
Provide 1:1 and small group ABA-based services aligned with student IEPs
Deliver behavior-related services as mandated by IEPs and maintain progress monitoring data
Support students in developing self-regulation, coping, and executive functioning skills
Collaborate with staff and families to ensure consistency in support across settings
IEP Development & Team Participation
Attend IEP meetings as the designated behavior specialist or related service provider
Write measurable, data-driven behavioral goals and objectives for IEPs
Monitor and report on students’ progress toward IEP goals using behavioral data
Consult with case managers to ensure behavioral accommodations and services are implemented with fidelity
Behavioral Assessment & Plan Development
Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and write comprehensive Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
Ensure plans are culturally responsive, legally compliant, and rooted in evidence-based practices
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement and update BIPs as needed
Data Collection, Tracking, & Analysis
Design systems for behavioral data collection across settings
Analyze trends and patterns to adjust supports and interventions at the individual and systems levels
Guide staff in collecting and interpreting behavioral data with accuracy and consistency
MTSS & School-Wide Support
Provide leadership in implementing Tier 1-3 supports through the MTSS model
Analyze building-wide behavior data to identify needs and design proactive interventions
Participate in school-level problem-solving teams and serve as a resource for data-based decision-making
Staff Consultation & Coaching
Provide consultation to general and special education staff around behavior management
Support the implementation of classroom-based strategies and behavior accommodations
Offer modeling and real-time feedback to build staff capacity in managing challenging behaviors
Professional Development & Training
Lead trainings in trauma-informed care, positive behavior supports, de-escalation, and classroom management
Provide individual and group-based PD around Tier 1 behavior strategies and inclusive practices
Serve as a thought partner to administrators in aligning behavior systems with school priorities
Partnering with Students and Families
Communicating proactively with students, families, and school administrators around behavioral concerns.
Responding promptly by telephone or e-mail to parent questions and concerns.
Building of School Culture
Frequently communicating the school’s mission to children and families.
Adhering to school academic and disciplinary protocols.
Assuming additional responsibilities if desired, as negotiated with the Senior Director of Special Education and Related Services.
Maintenance of Organizational Culture
Actively pursuing professional development, inside and outside of the school.
Collaborating with other teachers and administrators to advance the school’s mission.
Qualifications include:
Required:
Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or equivalent credential
Preferred:
Prior experience in a public school setting and working with students in grades 6-12, Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments, Knowledge of
IDEA, IEP
development, and school-based compliance standards, Experience with data systems and behavior progress monitoring tools
