Special Education Sub-Separate Classroom Teacher
Full-time for the 2025-2026 School Year The Leominster School District is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher for ubstantially Separate ABA-based classrooms. The candidate should be familiar with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), comfortable implementing and collaborating on behavior intervention plans, skilled at discrete trial teaching, incidental teaching, and small group instruction, able to manage the schedules of both students and paraprofessionals, willing to model teaching procedures and provide professional coaching to paraprofessionals, and demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and dedication to students with special needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach academic and executive functioning skill classes.
Works in conjunction with other staff to create IEPs; provides input for student reevaluation.
Communicate regularly with families of students receiving services.
Maintain service delivery log and progress notes; use ongoing assessments to evaluate and report on student progress.
Manage paraprofessional support personnel in the classroom.

QUALIFICATIONS

BA/BS
MA Special Education certification as Teacher of Students With Severe Disabilities
Demonstrated ability to engage, direct, and teach high school-age students
Skilled at setting limits, processing events, and guiding students in behaviors and self-management Knowledge of federal and state special education laws and regulations, including mandated reporting
Experience with IEP-focused service delivery or solution-focused counseling
Ability to establish strong relationships with students and parents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Reading Instruction training is not required but is an advantage.
