Job Description
The Spencer-East Brookfield Regional School District is seeking a skilled Special Education Teacher to join the preschool team at East Brookfield Elementary School. The teacher will work in a special education classroom offering academic, social, emotional, behavioral, and physical support to young children with disabilities. Experience and training with young children with Autism Spectrum Disorders is preferred.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish an inviting and engaging preschool classroom that addresses preschool learning standards and individual student needs
- Provide positive behavior supports and interventions for children with disabilities
- Work collaboratively with early childhood team of teachers and therapists
- Collect data to measure progress against IEP goals and objectives
- Participate fully in the special education process to initial evaluation, IEP development, and progress reporting
The Special Education teacher reports to the Principal, in consultation with the Director of Preschool Programs.
