This contract role is based in Rockland, ME, serving an elementary school setting focused on providing comprehensive support to students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver customized instruction tailored to students with severe or multiple cognitive disabilities and life skills development. Manage a caseload of 12 students, fostering individualized learning and growth. Collaborate closely with a team of seven Educational Technicians (paraprofessionals) to implement effective classroom strategies. Develop and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) according to state guidelines. Maintain detailed documentation and progress reports in compliance with Maine’s educational standards. Engage with families and multidisciplinary teams to support holistic student development.

Qualifications:

Valid Maine Special Education Certification 282 or an equivalent out-of-state reciprocal certificate. Experience working with students with severe or multiple cognitive disabilities. Proven ability to lead and coordinate with paraprofessional staff. Strong communication and organizational skills. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
