Welcome to Maine School Administrative District #75 (MSAD 75)
Serving Maine’s Midcoast communities of Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Harpswell, and Topsham, MSAD 75 is home to over 2,350 students and more than 600 faculty and staff members.
MSAD 75 is seeking a dedicated EL Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. Together, we can inspire the next generation of learners and leaders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Primary classroom responsibility includes the instruction and support of English learners K-12 District-Wide.
Provide content area instruction when necessary for English learners, working in conjunction with classroom teachers, throughout the district’s seven schools.
Work in a team-oriented environment to design engaging student-centered lessons based on clear Learning Targets and Learning Goals.
Create a schedule that best meets the needs of the English learners.
Communicate language needs and progress of the district’s ELs with families, teachers and administrators.
Identify, support and evaluate the language needs of ELs.
Administer a language screener to students, for whom a language barrier impedes their academic success.
Administer the ACCESS for ELL assessment.
Support a growth mindset in the classroom including how to learn from mistakes, persevere, manage impulsivity and develop grit.
Use assessment data to find a student’s readiness level; so they can be met where they are and move forward in their learning using feedback effectively.
Participate in professional development in curriculum, instruction and assessment.
Support non-instructional duties. Other duties as per teacher contract.

CREDENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

State of Maine Department of Education (660) English Second Language certification.
State of Maine Department of Education background check (CHRC) authorization. Experienced in a 1:1 computing environment, including how to effectively use technology as an input source for knowledge. An understanding of MTSS to support student growth and support.
Proven ability to function as a contributing member of a team.
