Responsibilities:

Create and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards. Provide trauma-informed instruction and individualized support to meet each student’s academic and emotional needs. Monitor student progress, provide regular feedback, and assess performance through assignments, tests, and classwork. Maintain accurate records, gradebooks, and required reports in compliance with school policies and regulations. Establish and enforce clear classroom rules and procedures to support a safe, respectful learning environment. Effectively integrate relevant technology and instructional materials to enhance student learning. Communicate regularly with parents, attend scheduled events, and respond promptly to emails and school communications.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field and a valid teaching certification

Preferred:

Special Education certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Preferred:

Experience teaching in an educational facility with grades 3-7 Demonstrated understanding of the emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges students may face, with the ability to teach and motivate accordingly. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills; able to collaborate effectively with therapists, nurses, and other professionals while modeling calm, confident leadership. Trained or willing to be trained in CPI techniques to safely support students in crisis when necessary. Must be at least 21 years old and able to pass a criminal background check as required by school policy.
