Category Schools – Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract A rewarding opportunity is available for Teachers for the Visually Impaired to support K-12 students in a school located in Nixa, MO. This contract position offers the chance to make a significant impact in the educational development of visually impaired students throughout the school year.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of visually impaired students across kindergarten through 12th grade. Assess student abilities and adapt teaching methods and materials to promote learning and independence. Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to create inclusive educational plans. Utilize assistive technologies and resources to enhance student engagement and accessibility. Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings. Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification with endorsement or specialized training in vision impairment education. Experience working with visually impaired children in educational settings. Strong knowledge of assistive technology and curriculum adaptations for vision impairments. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families. Patience, creativity, and a commitment to student growth and independence.
