Outdoor School Teacher (a.k.a. Trailblazing Educator Extraordinaire) Grades K-4) Come teach where the wild things learn. Ditch the desk. Find the wild. We’re looking for licensed, seasoned educators ready to leave behind fluorescent lights and embrace the messy, magical, real world. This is not a field trip. This is school—outside. You’ll teach in rain. You’ll hike with purpose. You’ll change what school means for a kid. If you’re ready to take your teaching off the grid—apply We are seeking experienced teachers who are ready to swap classroom walls for towering pines, and overhead projectors for actual overhead clouds.

Must be a creative, compassionate, and slightly adventurous educator ready to guide young learners (Kindergarten-4th grade) through a nature-based curriculum that blends core academics with curiosity, play, and hands-on discovery in the great outdoors.

Perks include:
  • Fresh air (free and unlimited)
  • Muddy boots
  • Curious kids asking big questions
  • A daily step count that’ll shame your Fitbit
  • Campfire stories that may or may not be educational Here’s the honest truth: The weather doesn’t always cooperate, and yes—you might find pine needles and rocks in your pockets. But you’ll also see kids come alive outside, grow in ways you never imagined, and fall in love with learning all over again. You might be the right fit if you:
  • Know your stuff in the classroom, but aren’t afraid to teach on a stump
  • Can laugh when it rains and keep teaching when a squirrel steals your lunch
  • Believe that resilience, wonder, and joy are just as important as test scores
  • Are comfortable leading a science lesson in the middle of the woods—and pivoting when that lesson turns into “why is that mushroom blue?” What we offer:
  • A wildly supportive team. A tight-knit, mission-driven team that celebrates each other
  • Ongoing training in outdoor ed & experiential learning
  • Real growth opportunities
  • A child-centered approach rooted in wonder, respect, and discovery
  • Loads of sunshine, laughter, and “remember when…” moments This isn’t a break from “real” school.

This is school—just with more bird calls and fewer bells. Bring your passion, your rain jacket, and your best stories. What to

Expect:
  • Yes, you’ll teach math. It just might be on a log.
  • Yes, you’ll teach reading. Possibly during a picnic.
  • Yes, you’ll lead science.

And probably get distracted by a toad. This is real school. With real learning. Just with more dirt and joy.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with educational standards and cater to the needs of all students. Foster a nurturing classroom environment that promotes child welfare and encourages student participation. Provide instruction in various subjects, including Math, English Language arts, and science and more. Knowledge of child welfare practices and commitment to creating a supportive environment for all learners. Previous experience in a private school setting is a plus. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and staff effectively.
