Job Summary:
This position is responsible for conducting comprehensive educational evaluations of students with suspected learning disabilities, developmental delays, and/or other educational needs. The Educational Diagnostician will collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of students.
Responsibilities:
Conducts formal and informal educational evaluations to assess students’ academic functioning, learning styles, and educational needs. Administers and interprets standardized and non-standardized assessments. Observes students in various classroom settings to gather data about their learning behaviors and challenges. Collaborates with IEP teams to develop and revise IEPs, including setting goals, identifying appropriate instructional strategies, and determining necessary supports. Provides consultation and support to teachers on instructional strategies and interventions for students with various exceptionalities.
Communicates effectively with parents, students, and school staff to share assessment findings and IEP recommendations. Maintains accurate and confidential student records. Ensures compliance with state and federal special education regulations. Participates in professional development and training to maintain current knowledge of best practices in educational assessment and intervention.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in special education, educational psychology, or related field.
Experience in working with students with disabilities and/or developmental delays.
Strong knowledge of educational assessment procedures and special education law.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and individuals.
