A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in Concord, NC, supporting high school students in grades 9 through 12. This contract role involves managing a self-contained extended course of study classroom with a caseload of 7 to 15 students, providing specialized instruction tailored to meet diverse learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students within a self-contained classroom setting. Deliver curriculum designed for extended course of study aligned with high school standards. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to support academic and social-emotional growth. Collaborate with families, administrators, and support staff to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Maintain accurate records of student performance and conduct regular assessments.
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification. Experience working with high school students, preferably in a self-contained classroom. Strong understanding of extended course of study curriculum and IEP development. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to manage a caseload of 7-15 students effectively.
