Salary:

Based on NC State Salary Schedule + Local Supplement

Position Overview:

Currituck County Schools is seeking a dynamic and innovative educator to serve in a dual role as Media Specialist and AIG Teacher. This position will lead the school’s media and instructional technology program while also providing specialized instruction and enrichment opportunities to students identified as academically or intellectually gifted.

Key Responsibilities:
Media Specialist Duties:

Manage the school library and media center, including collection development and circulation.
Collaborate with teachers to support curriculum and integrate media and technology.
Foster a love of reading and digital literacy among students.
Maintain an up-to-date digital and print media collection.
Provide training and support for instructional technology tools.

AIG Duties:

Provide differentiated instruction to AIG students in accordance with district AIG plans.
Identify and support academically/intellectually gifted learners.
Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop enrichment opportunities.
Maintain required documentation and progress monitoring for AIG students.
Participate in district AIG initiatives and professional learning.

Qualifications:

North Carolina teaching license in Media Coordinator and/or AIG required or eligibility to obtain.
Strong organizational, communication, and technology skills.
Experience in media services and/or gifted education preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.
