Job Description
Qualifications
- North Carolina licensure or certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with visually impaired students, preferably in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of adaptive techniques, assistive technology, and instructional strategies for students with visual impairments
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with students, parents, educators, and colleagues
Responsibilities -
Employment Type:
Part-Time (5 hours/week
- 1 hour/day)

Duties:
Providing Visual Impairment (VI) Services
- As a TVI, you will play a vital role in providing specialized support to a visually impaired student, ensuring they have equal access to education and a positive learning experience
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the visual needs and learning preferences of the student
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans that address the unique needs and goals of the student
- Provide direct instruction and support to the visually impaired student, utilizing appropriate adaptive techniques and tools
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the student’s needs are met effectively
- Adapt and modify educational materials to accommodate the student’s visual impairment
- Assist in the development and implementation of the student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP)
- Provide guidance and support to other school staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Monitor and document the student’s progress, adjusting strategies as needed
