The person in these positions will lead and mentor Eligibility Specialist workers in the Income Support Division of Forsyth County Department of Social Services. Distinguishing Features The person in these positions is responsible for monitoring and managing the assigned Team in LTC/SA programs in the absence of the supervisor. The Eligibility Specialist III position requires the ability to multitask and manage multiple assignments at any given time. The Eligibility Specialist III will assist the supervisor in auditing case records, being a policy resource for staff, and completing various reports and paperwork all within set deadlines. This person will train, coach, and mentor new staff and will assist in being responsible for monitoring the quality and quantity of work produced within the unit. Individuals must support the Forsyth County Guiding Principles of WeCare which include Integrity, Awareness, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence Minimum Education and Experience Graduation from high school or GED and two (2) years of experience as a caseworker or investigator in an income maintenance program. A higher education level may be considered as a substitution for all or part of the experience requirement. The preferred candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in Adult Medicaid policy and processing cases in NCFast. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential functions include but are not limited to: Lead and mentor Eligibility Specialists in the Income Support Division of Forsyth County Department of Social Services. Work includes training and mentoring Eligibility Specialists on county policy and procedures, Assisting employees and customers with inquiries, copies, checking agency mail, covering a caseload, processing cases, Providing assistance regarding Adult/SA programs. Responsible for monitoring and managing the assigned team in LTC/SA programs in the absence of the Supervisor. Interpret complex rules and regulations and use good judgment to make appropriate eligibility decisions. Must have exceptional organizational skills, the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, the ability to work quickly within deadlines, Must have a basic knowledge of universal computer technology and general office equipment and be able to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
