Teachers for the Visually Impaired An opportunity has arisen for dedicated and skilled Teachers for the Visually Impaired in the Winston-Salem, NC area. This role focuses on providing high-quality educational support to K-12 students with visual impairments, fostering an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement tailored instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of visually impaired students. Conduct assessments and evaluations to track student progress and adjust plans accordingly. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including parents and specialized staff, to create personalized education plans (IEPs). Adapt classroom materials and resources to enhance accessibility and engagement for students. Provide direct support and guidance to students, encouraging their academic, social, and emotional development. Stay informed about advancements in educational practices and technologies for visually impaired students.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Specialized Education, or related field. Certification or endorsement in Teaching Students with Visual Impairments. Experience working with K-12 students, preferably in a school setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, families, and staff. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational journeys of visually impaired students.
