Are you a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) with a passion for empowering students to thrive? Were seeking committed professionals for a school near Greensboro, NC for the 2025-2026 school year where you’ll play a vital role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments. Help them succeed academically, socially, and emotionally while making a lasting impact every day.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments. Provide instruction in Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support inclusive education. Conduct assessments to determine students’ needs and recommend appropriate accommodations. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet educational goals. Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Special Education with a focus on Visual Impairments, or a related field. State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI). Knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility techniques. Experience working with students with visual impairments in a school setting is preferred.
