The mission of Thales Academy is to provide an excellent and affordable education for students in Pre-K to 12th grades through the use of Direct Instruction (K-5) and a Classical Curriculum (6-12) that embodies traditional values. Responsibilities Include:
Teaching Latin to students in grades PK-5, with an emphasis on oral recitation, song, and movement to reinforce vocabulary and grammar. Implementing age-appropriate lessons that align with classical education principles and cultivate wonder, delight, and curiosity. Incorporating music, chants, call-and-response, rhythm, and movement activities to engage students in their weekly learning. Using literature, nursery rhymes, and poetry to enhance students’ experience and deepen cultural understanding of introductory Latin culture. Fostering and maintaining a positive, orderly, and interactive classroom environment rooted in virtue and respect. Collaborating with classroom teachers, other specials teachers, and school leadership to integrate Latin instruction through interactive meaningful lessons. Participating in school events, staff meetings, and professional development in support of the school’s mission. Upholding beauty and order through delivery of instruction, behavior management, and high quality classroom expectations
Qualifications:
High energy and organized with a passion for teaching children Bachelor’s degree in education or another related field Direct Instruction or other teaching experience preferred but not required
