Job Description
Shaker Regional School District has an opening for a Certified Elementary Teacher with NH Department of Education Special Education Certification, or Statement of Eligibility, for the Belmont Elementary School for our academic and behavior learning environment.
1. Superior communication skills with families, educators, and students.
2. Experience working with children with behavioral and emotional challenges.

Preferred:

Crisis Prevention Intervention Certification (CPI) and experience working with diverse populations in a school setting.
This position is responsible for working with students who are struggling in their assigned classrooms due to emotional and behavioral
concerns, including delivering the academic curriculum (K-4) in collaboration with the assigned classroom teachers and helping students
develop the social/emotional and coping skills they require to be successful in the classroom.
Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to,:
1. Deliver instruction utilizing appropriate resources, equipment, materials, technology, and instructional strategies.
2. Provide differentiated instruction based on the student’s individual level of functioning and preferred learning modalities.
3. Provide a positive role model of appropriate and respectful interactions with students and staff.
4. Develop, teach, and review clear and concise classroom rules, routines, procedures, and expectations.
5. Administer appropriate and required informal and formal assessments based on student needs and state regulations.
6. Collect and interpret data and utilize it to modify instruction, content, and to report progress to parents and school district.
7. Work with students to transition them back into the regular classroom as needed.
8. Maintain constant and ongoing communication regarding students and all facets of the program.
9. Work in conjunction with the IEP/504 Teams to determine the Least Restrictive Environment for the student, based on all Federal and
State Regulations.
10. Be familiar with Functional Behavior Assessments, identify the functions of student behavior and Implementation of Behavior
Intervention Plans.
