Valid teaching certification in Elementary Education or Mathematics Minimum of 35 years of successful classroom teaching experience in mathematics Deep knowledge of math content, pedagogy, and developmental learning progressions Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships with staff
Desired Attributes:
Advanced degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field Previous coaching, mentoring, or leadership experience Familiarity with math intervention strategies and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) Knowledge of effective math frameworks (e.g., CGI, Math Workshop, NCTM/NCSM practices)

Few investments serve as such high profile demonstrations of how we value the education of our students as the facilities we use. The facilities in which we spend our time together provide daily cues and clues that affect the learning and work cultures for students and staff respectively.
Goal:
SAU 34 will provide and maintain facilities that support a high quality, future focused, teaching and learning environment that allows multiple educational opportunities. Performance Responsibilities Planning and Preparation Collaborate with teachers to plan, model, and co-teach high-quality math lessons aligned with curriculum standards. Assist with the development, alignment, and implementation of K5 math curriculum. Use assessment data to progress-monitor student growth, inform instructional adjustments, and schedule and facilitate intervention support. Guide teachers in using assessment data to plan and refine instruction. Collaborate and advise interventionists on lesson planning and design to ensure they are meeting current math standards and high quality math instructional practices. Classroom Environment Promote best practices in mathematics teaching, including differentiated instruction, student discourse, and formative assessment. Work collaboratively with interventionists, special educators, classroom teachers and EL staff to support students with diverse needs. Provide small-group or individual math instruction as needed to support Tier 2 or Tier 3 interventions. Instruction Support the implementation of district-approved mathematics programs, resources, and interventions. Lead school-wide efforts to improve math instruction and student outcomes. Analyze school-wide and classroom-based data to identify trends, instructional needs, and targeted supports. Knowledge of major theories of mathematics development, cognition and learning, and use of these theories to implement a well-planned and comprehensive mathematics program. Professional Responsibilities Provide ongoing coaching to teachers through observation, feedback, and reflective conversations. Facilitate professional learning communities (PLCs) focused on mathematics instruction, data analysis, and instructional strategies. Support the administration and interpretation of local and state assessments. Design and deliver teacher and parent professional development opportunities.
Working Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will constantly bend neck and back, use hands for repetitive grasping and pushing/pulling. The employee is frequently required to stand/walk, squat, kneel, use hands for fine manipulation. The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as books. Potentially exposed to ordinary infectious diseases as carried by students; exposed to student noise levels. Required to work outdoors in inclement weather; required to stand for prolonged periods. Duties may be occasionally performed on field trips away from school.
