General Responsibilities:

The Academic Interventionist will be responsible for supporting student achievement with special attention to all domains of Executive Functioning. As this is a Tier 2 support, the interventionist will assist in facilitation of the Student Support Team where at risk students will be identified and guided to specific interventions yielding successes in school. The interventionist will provide individual and small group instruction to students who require explicit instruction with time management, planning and organizing, self advocacy, assignment completion, study skills and more. The interventionist will collaboratively work and communicate with all teachers to meet the needs of each student. They will also collect and disaggregate data related to baseline and progress monitoring of the intervention as well as communicating this performance information to the SST Team.

Essential Functions:

Collects and uses data to identify needs and to inform specific interventional supports to aid in greater academic achievement.
Collaborates with teachers, administrators, school counselors, parents and other instructional support staff to help identify best practices and materials in and out of the classroom for at-risk students.
Maintain data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress to make informed decisions (not limited to attendance, participation, demonstration of skills, grades and other points). Participates in meetings with teachers, administration and parents
Provides input for Tier 1 interventional development
Provides instruction and support with study skills, time management, planning and organizing and work completion.
Assists in the facilitation of the SST process and data management systems.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications NH Special Educator Certification
Strong knowledge of high school Math and English
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to apply instructional differentiation strategies
Ability to collect, disaggregate and use data to inform decisions
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, teachers and school administrators
Hours per day: 7.5
Days per week: 5
