Job Description
Seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and skilled Special Education Teacher to work with students who have significant needs. The ideal candidate will provide a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment where all students are valued and provided with meaningful access to education.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique learning needs.
  • Provide direct instruction in functional academics, communication, daily living skills, and social/emotional development.
  • Adapt curriculum materials to accommodate various learning styles and ability levels.
  • Utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and assistive technology as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including paraprofessionals, therapists, families, and service providers.
  • Manage and document student progress toward IEP goals and objectives.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and structured learning environment that supports student independence and dignity.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to paraprofessionals assigned to the classroom.
  • Foster strong relationships with families and encourage their engagement in their child’s education.
Qualifications:
  • Valid [State] teaching certification in Special Education (Severe Disabilities, Moderate/Severe, or equivalent).
  • Experience working with students with significant intellectual and/or physical disabilities preferred.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices in special education, including behavior management strategies and differentiated instruction.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
