Job Description

SETSS Provider/Middle School Interventionist Job Description :

Hired by, reports to, and evaluated by Middle School Principal, Assistant Principal and/or Special Education Program Manager. The purpose of this position is to provide individualized instruction and support to students with IEP mandated academic goals. This will include collaborating with classroom teachers, developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), creating appropriate and meaningful academic goals, and ensuring students work towards meeting the academic goals mandated on their IEPs. This position will also see students may not have IEPs, but who are receiving academic interventions through MTSS.

Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities, either in small groups or one-on-one, to address specific learning needs as mandated on IEP. Provide direct instruction to Tier3 MTSS students in small groups using data collected by both formal and informal assessments. Collaborate with IEP teams to develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals, ensuring they align with the student’s needs. Work closely with general education teachers, parents, and other service providers to ensure effective support for students. Track student progress, collect data on student performance, complete progress monitoring documents and prepare reports for IEP meetings. Provide specially designed and/or supplemental instruction to support the participation of the student with a disability in the general education classroom. Provide consultation to the student’s general education teacher. •SETSS groups can include students without IEPs as long as the group also includes students with disabilities. The group size must not exceed the size specified on any individual student’s IEP.

Other responsibilities include:

Respond to parent concerns effectively and in a timely manner. Encourage students’ positive interactions with other students and adults. Value and promote peaceful conflict resolution and creative and authentic problem solving; Uphold the school’s System of Logical Consequences; Engage in effective and appropriate classroom management. Keep an organized workspace. Maintain and communicate high academic and personal expectations for all students with families, support staff, specialty teachers, and leaders. Stay current with regard to education literature. Participate in a variety of staff development programs, including a yearly individualized professional development plan, two-week summer PD, and individual PD sessions. Participate in developing and meeting the goals of an individualized professional development plan. Uphold and promote the school’s mission and vision. Perform other duties as needed to support the ongoing development of Haven Academy.
