POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced educator to serve as a Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) focused on literacy. This position will support the implementation of Science of Reading (SOR) practices and the adoption of a curricular resource in collaboration with the Office of Instruction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Collaborate with district leadership, including building principals, to implement SOR-aligned literacy strategies + Assist with scheduling, organization, and attendance associated with LETRS training + Support the rollout and integration of a structured literacy curricular resource across schools + Provide coaching and professional development to teachers, grounded in evidence-based reading practices + Use data to inform instructional decisions and support continuous improvement around student outcomes, program efficacy, and professional learning of adults + Foster a collaborative culture that values multiple perspectives and supports adult learners
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Elementary teaching certification + Minimum of five (5) years of successful classroom teaching experience + LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) training completed + Deep understanding of the Science of Reading and structured Literacy approaches + Demonstrated ability to use data to drive instructional decisions
