Pre-K Special Education Teacher- Levittown 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars Levittown, NY 11714 Variety Child Learning Center (VCLC) is a not-for-profit agency providing quality educational and therapeutic services to young children with disabilities. Our Facilities are located in Syosset, NY, Levittown, NY & East Northport, NY. Our school operates 12 months/year. We are currently accepting applications for a Pre K Special Education Teacher located in Levittown. This is a Benefits Eligible position. We require a Master’s Degree, NYS Professional Certification in Special Education/students with disabilities from birth to 2nd grade or equivalent We will also consider a candidate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education who is in process of obtaining their Master’s Degree in Special Education. A Special Education Teacher is responsible to develop and provide specialized instruction to meet the needs of each child in the class according to his/her/their IEP in all areas of development while implementing curriculum that is compatible with the New York State Next Generation Learning Standards and the New York State Early Learning Guidelines. In addition, the teacher is responsible for ongoing evaluation and assessment of the student’s progress toward instructional objectives and coordination of the delivery of special education services as per the IEP. Hours are typically 8:00am-3:30pm, Monday Friday. Full Time Special Education Teachers work a total of 212 days/year These roles may be physically demanding. The employee is required to be non-sedentary. Must be able to stand; run, walk; sit; bend, climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; The employee must be able to lift an average pre-school age child (35 pounds) and school age child (50 pounds). Background check required. Annual Physical & PPD required.
