Job Description:

The person selected for this position will be under the direct supervision of the Program Director and will be responsible for delivering engaging, hands-on STEM enrichment activities to middle school students in the Play Study Win Summer Rising program. The STEM Specialist will lead the STEM Creators activity, focusing on project-based learning using everyday materials to construct bridges, structures, and other creative STEM-related projects. Candidates with their own ideas for hands-on STEM projects are encouraged to share them.

Essential Functions and Job Duties:
  • Facilitate interactive STEM activities that foster creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration.
  • Implement project-based lessons that align with middle school STEM learning goals.
  • Adapt existing curriculum and contribute new activity ideas as needed.
  • Monitor and support student engagement and teamwork during activities.
  • Ensure a safe and respectful classroom environment.
  • Communicate daily with the Program Director regarding student progress and supply needs.
  • Perform daily clean-up and organization of materials.
Job Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED (some college or college students preferred).
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with youth in a structured setting.
  • Experience or interest in STEM education or project-based learning.
  • Strong classroom management and facilitation skills.
  • Must be 18 or older.
Job Type:
Part-time Pay:

$30.00 per hour

Expected Hours:

12-15 hours per week
