As a Resident Medical Records Specialist , you’ll play a key role in managing and safeguarding critical health records. Your attention to detail, knowledge of compliance standards, and technical expertise in electronic health records (EHR) will ensure seamless documentation and data integrity. What You’ll Do:

Maintain & Secure Records

  • Manage electronic health records (EHR) while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations. Ensure Accuracy & Compliance
  • Audit, review, and update medical records for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to facility standards. Support Billing & Coding
  • Assist with
ICD-10-CM

coding for billing and MDS data sheets. Manage User Access & Training

  • Oversee EHR system user access, provide training, and implement software updates. Facilitate Audits & Reviews
  • Compile records for insurance reviews, legal requests, and regulatory audits. Improve Processes
  • Review policies, lead quality improvement projects, and enhance data flow for efficiency. Collaborate & Communicate
  • Work closely with staff, providers, and leadership to ensure seamless documentation and reporting.
Qualifications You Bring:
Required:

High school diploma or GED, plus six months of related experience or training in medical records.

Preferred:

RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) credential. Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills. Experience with EHR systems (MatrixCare preferred).

Work Schedule:

Full-Time 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday—perfect for balancing your career with life’s other joys!
