Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Position Summary:
We are seeking a qualified and student-centered Special Education Teacher near Bellevue, PA, to provide pull-out math and reading interventions for students in grades 5-8 . This position offers a focused, small-group setting (no more than 5-6 students per session) designed to meet individual academic needs while fostering a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide targeted instruction in reading and math through a pull-out model for small groups Progress monitor students on Fridays and attend required professional development sessions in the afternoons Develop, write, and manage IEPs using IEP Writer software Collaborate with general education staff, support teams, and 1:1 paraprofessionals assigned to students Maintain clear and ongoing communication with families and staff regarding student progress Participate in daily arrival and dismissal duties as assigned
Position Details & Support:
No classroom-assigned paraprofessionals , but a high percentage of students have 1:1 para support who may assist in sessions All middle school teachers receive a daily planning period and lunch break Teachers are provided with a school email and laptop Fridays are half-days for students , and teachers are compensated for the afternoon PD sessions
Qualifications:
Must hold a valid Pennsylvania Special Education Certification (Grades 5-8) OR have the ability to obtain certification before the start date: August 25, 2025 Strong instructional skills in reading and math intervention Effective classroom management and collaboration skills Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled
