Job Description
Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher at Palisades High School – available the beginning of the 2025/2026 through the end of the first semester of the 2025/2026 school year. Interested candidates must be certified in Special Education N-12 or PK-12. Responsibilities to include management of IEP caseload, development of Reevaluation Reports, IEPs, and Positive Behavior Support Plans, small group and individual instruction, push-in support for general education classes, possibly co-teaching.
Successful candidate will need strong:
instructional skills, progress monitoring skills, effective communication skills with parents and co-workers, insightfulness in making accommodations to assist students in the general education setting, classroom management and behavior management skills. Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention or other comparable certification preferred. Newly certified candidates that are awaiting their certificates are encouraged to apply.

letter of interest, resume, completed PA standard application, college transcripts, copy of PA teaching certificate, or candidates that are awaiting an official certification to be approved by PDE are encouraged to apply, but must submit a letter from their university/college and a copy of their Praxis scores that demonstrate program completion, 3 letters of recommendation, clearances (Acts 24, 34, 114 & 151 current within the past 12 months of the closing date of the posting), and disclosure form(s) Act 168.
