JOB GOAL
To design, coordinate, and provide individual and/or small group instructional and school day tutoring support for students experiencing academic difficulties in elementary school
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Use data to provide Math and ELA academic interventions for students identified as Tier 2 and 3 students through the MTSS process.
MTSS team member, sharing case management duties for academic plans with Instructional Coach and ESS.Collaborate with Instructional Coach and teachers to be able to implement and use appropriate progress monitoring assessments to determine effectiveness of interventions.
Design systems and tools to measure the effectiveness of Tier 3 support.
Refine Tier 3 strategies and support as needed to improve effectiveness.
Provide intervention to students in Tier 2 and tier 3.Engage with district and school leadership as part of the ongoing school improvement process.
Build effective relationships with parents and students through regular communication and be available to students and parents for education-related purposes, e.g., open house, conferences, extra-curricular activities.
Participate in professional growth and development and stay abreast of current research through continuing education, educational seminars, workshops, conferences, membership in professional organizations, and attendance at in-services. Maintain a strong, regular personal attendance record.
Complete all other duties assigned by supervisor.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
Establish rapport with students, families, partners and staff.
Navigate multiple systems to achieve the best outcomes for students based on student need.
Identify and communicate about issues and problems with a problem-solving orientation.
Provide assistance in specific skill buildings areas as needed. Work flexible hours. Must be willing to engage in ongoing professional development.
