Qualifications:

Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher in Extended School Year program preferred.
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Education required.
PA Special Education certification required.
Previous experience working with students preferred specifically students with autism.
Willingness to support children in self care such as, dressing, toileting and eating.
Physical stamina to participate in all activities including education, preparation of activities and material.
Must be available for entire 5 week program and available for training on 2 days in June.
Must be a good team player, punctual, energetic, parent friendly and have an eagerness to learn.
ABA training preferred.

Description:

The School District of Springfield Township is seeking candidates who possess excellent interpersonal skills, the desire to work with energetic students, and the ability to relate well within the school community. SDST is committed to diversity in our workplace and welcomes the opportunity to consider all candidates. This position will be an Extended School Year Lead Teacher.

Responsibilities:

Provide ESY Itinerant Tutoring programming and services
Support day to day operation of ESY program K-12
Provide communication to parents in coordination with supervisor
Support related services implementation for students
Support completion of progress monitoring and documentation in appropriate places
Support collection and appropriate return of resources and equipment Check in with substitutes to make sure that rooms are accessible, plans acquired, and needs met; communicate any concerns to administration
Disseminate information to ESY programs. Conduct progress monitoring data review to support instruction and services with program members bi-weekly
Support Supervisor and Director in the implementation of the ESY program through class walkthroughs, consultation with staff in

IEP/PBSP

implementation, securing resources and solving emerging issues during the ESY day
Assist the Supervisor in program organization, staff scheduling and classroom assignments in response to coverage needs and emerging student needs
Assist the Supervisor in communication with parents
Answer calls that come into the program during the day
Draft written responses to emails received
Draft pre planned communication regarding program updates to be approved by the Supervisor
Attend regular meetings with the Supervisor to ensure smooth operation of the ESY program
Support program and student needs in day to day operation of SDST’s ESY program for the elementary and secondary ESY program
Support Supervisor and Related Services providers to implement related services instruction effectively
Support the Supervisor at the end of the program to ensure all materials are collected and returned to the correct location, support review of progress monitoring completion and documentation to remain in compliance with progress monitoring requirements

Terms of employment:
7.5 hours per day.
Training Dates= June 25, 2025 and June 26, 2025.
Program Dates= July 7, 2025 through August 7, 2025, Monday through Thursday.
