This contract position is ideal for dedicated professionals with expertise in special education and a focus on students with visual impairments. Located in Philadelphia, PA, this role spans the K-12 grade levels and is set for the extended school year, requiring a commitment from July 7th to August 7th. The hours are Monday through Thursday, 8 AM to 2:15 PM EST, totaling 25 hours per week.

Qualifications:

Current Pennsylvania Teacher Certification in visual impairment teaching or special education (emergency certifications not accepted). Bachelors Degree in Education, specifically in Visual Impairment or Special Education. Experience working with students who have blindness/visual impairments and additional disabilities. Certified in First Aid and CPR/AED, with a valid drivers license.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for students. Adapt instructional materials and techniques to meet diverse learning needs. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Communicate regularly with students, parents, and staff regarding educational progress and needs.
