Healthcare Coding Specialist Sterling Office Professionals Irwin, PA 15642 Sterling Office Professionals has partnered with a medical consulting company to find a healthcare coding specialist!
Key Responsibilities:
Review and assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on medical records and clinical documentation. Ensure documentation supports coding decisions and aligns with regulatory standards. Partner with healthcare providers and staff to resolve coding questions and enhance documentation quality. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, payer policies, and federal/state regulations. Participate in coding audits and provide feedback to improve accuracy and efficiency. Provide education to staff on best practices in coding and documentation improvement. Prepare coding-related reports and analytics to support internal objectives and strategic decisions.
Qualifications:
Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or a similar credential is required. Associate’s degree in Health Information Technology, Medical Coding, or a related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in healthcare coding. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and coding principles. Proficiency with EHR systems and coding software. Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
Pay:
$25.00 – $31.00 per hour
