Job Description
Category Schools – Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for the ESY (Extended School Year) session at an elementary school in Cranston, RI. This contract position focuses on providing specialized instruction and support for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other long-term special education needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of students with ASD and other disabilities. Provide instruction and support that promotes academic growth, social skills, and positive behavior. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and school psychologists. Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with families and school personnel.
Qualifications:
Valid Special Education teaching certification or license. Experience working with elementary-aged students with ASD and other developmental disabilities. Strong knowledge of evidence-based teaching methods and behavior management strategies. Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

This position is based in Cranston, Rhode Island, at an elementary school offering specialized services for students with diverse learning needs.
