Behavior Support Liaison
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (EssentialFunctions):
Collaborate with special education behavior specialists to develop and implement/maintain positive behavior supports system to address the needs of students with disabilities using a tiered intervention model.
Collaborate with Teachers, Special Ed Specialist, Behavior Specialist, and school staff for class and students in need of behavior intervention.
Accurately collects behavior data including: A-B-C, count, frequency, duration, latency, inter-response time, event, and interval based recording established by behavior specialist
Follows the behavior plan goals and interventions utilizing sound judgment and seeks out appropriate consultation with behavior specialist
Collaborates with team members to provide interventions effectively and without disruption to the environment or other individuals in the environment
Maintain documentation of student progress collaboratively with classroom teacher through data collection on target behaviors and designated training goals
Develop and deliver individualized and group professional learning experiences for behavior coaches and other staff as identified in best practices for classroom management, positive behavior support, and data collection.
Model, coach, and observe implementation of positive classroom management techniques in the classroom for students in special education or needing intensive supports.
Model, coach, and observe implementation of self-contained Special Education Blueprint models
Model, coach, and observe implementation of supports provided by Behavior Specialists and/or other special education staff (i.e. school psychologist)
Assist in the development and delivery of learning experiences for parents in positive behavior techniques.
Work directly with students in Tier III for behavior support and their parents to modify behaviors to reach successful oues.

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of three years work experience in education, social work, or mental health.
Two-year associate degree or higher (Special Education, Psychology, Mental Health or coursework relating to behavior preferred). Minimum of 5 years related work experience without a degree.
Minimum Skills:
Sound knowledge of child development and behavior modification.
Strong verbal and writtenmunication skills.
Willingness and ability to effectively collaborate with special education staff, teachers, principals, parents, and students.
Expertise in working with teams and individuals.
Assist in the development and implementation of individual positive behavior support plans.
Collect and assist in the analysis of data from a variety of sources, make rmendations and plans based on data, and evaluate results of data-driven plans.
Communicate with at-risk students and students with intensive behavioral needs.
Have been trained and can de-escalate heightened student behavior and emotions.
Physical Demands:
Exertingup to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force as needed to move objects. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Reasonable amodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
